Just last weekend, we headed to Boston with my parents to meet up with my brother and his girlfriend Deni! Our first night was spent eating Oysters and realizing that we definitely should have packed some extra sweaters!!
The next morning, Randy and I were up before the sun and with coffee in hand explored all that we could before it was time to head to Nantucket! We rode a ferry to Nantucket and as we arrived, it was like we were entering a film set for a nautical movie. I’m serious. The little shops and quaint homes were just amazing!
I’m not sure that I had any expectations for Nantucket but if I had had any, they would have been exceeded. Our main purpose for being in Nantucket was to celebrate the launch of my Mom’s first published book with Harper Collins – “The Things We Knew“!!! (In case you were wanting to read her latest, which I would HIGHLY recommend, I’ve linked the amazon page where you can download it for kindle or purchase a hard copy!) The Things We Knew is actually set in Nantucket so it was super cool to see where my Momma drew all her inspiration from!! And on Tuesday (the day of her release!) she was signing copies at Mitchell’s Book Store in the heart of Nantucket!! SO proud!!
If I had to name my TOP FIVE favorite parts of the trip they would be the following:
1.Driving on the beach with a gorgeous view and being able to see seals!! This was amazing!
2. Watching the Sunrise! It’s probably no surprise by now, but Randy and I are early risers! However, on our first day it was a little earlier than expected but it worked out as we were able to rush down to the water and watch the sun
3. Intentional time spent with family! With my brother and his girlfriend living in Boston, we don’t get to see them as often as I’d like, so it’s always nice when we can all get together for some quality time!
4. Biking!! I won’t lie, I was most nervous for this because I truly thought I was horrible at biking. But after the first 5 minutes everything came right back to me! Randy and I saw SO much of the island by bike – 21 miles worth!!
5. The FLOWERS!!! Oh my, I think I made everyone stop at least every 2 minutes for me to take yet another photograph of the hydrangeas and wild roses! It was just incredible!!! And now I’m determined to grow hydrangeas in Bermuda!
Enjoy some images from our time together!!!(This ones for you Lea!)
