We’re on vacation! And let me tell you, it is wonderful!
My parents cottage is just a few hours outside of Toronto and for as long as we’ve had it, I remember my Dad, at his first sighting of forest exclaiming that “oh this is beautiful! Man, this is God’s country!” I used to think he was being so ridiculous and over the top, but it’s true. The lake our cottage is on is so quiet and peaceful that somedays you would think you were the only people there.
Lately I’ve found that our summers have been so busy. Not that I don’t enjoy being busy, but when life itself is so busy, it really is perfect to spend time relaxing.
Two years ago we divided our time between camping with Randy’s family and spending time at my parents cottage to flying to Bermuda and spending time here – all the while Randy was in the Coastguard working two weeks on and two weeks off. And then last summer was our wedding, and then honeymoon to Italy, and then life started in Bermuda. So I think it will be nice to take a few days at the beginning of our holidays to just catch up on sleep, swim in the lake (or not!) read magazines or books, not check emails or anything work related and just lounge and be with one another.
Wishing you all a summer filled with the ones you love and relaxation!
