It seems that whenever I meet new families we always get on the topic of my recent wedding (May 25th 2013) and honeymoon! I absolutely looove reminiscing on both of these times as they are some of my favourite memories! But I quickly realized that I’ve never shared our honeymoon on the blog! And I thought with today being Friday (and for some people “flashback friday”) I thought it was only applicable!
I love my husband. If you didn’t already know that, you do now. But truly, I love his eye for detail and his knack for planning. Whether it be a large event or our honeymoon. He, along with the help from my Dad, researched the best places to stay in Italy, what sites to see, how to travel from one location to the next, etc. Even while we were in Italy, Randy was constantly on trip advisor looking up the best restaurants in our area, and even made the extra effort to find a few amazing restaurants that offered gluten free menus! Cenza Glutine per favore!
Our honeymoon began in Rome, and we spent our first few hours in Italy enjoying a light lunch and sipping on complimentary prosecco at our hotels rooftop restaurant. We explored all that Rome had to see and it was beyond amazing! From Rome, we travelled to Sienna and stayed in the most beautiful hotel. The charm of Sienna was to die for! I adored everything about it. And then from Sienna we travelled to Sorrento – the most relaxing part of our vacation. We lounged by the pool and truly just enjoyed our last few days in Italy. It was truly a honeymoon that neither Randy or I will ever forget! And I think I speak for the both of us when I say that it was the perfect way to start our marriage!
If you can believe it… this was the view from our room! Just stunning! Our last dinner in Sorrento! Boo!
