It’s no secret that while we were engaged, I absolutely LOVED planning our wedding! Actually, we both did! I think deep down inside, both Randy and I should have been planners of some sort! Thankfully as wedding photographers, we still get to do a little bit of planning while helping our brides! Now, you’re probably thinking by now that I say everything is important on the wedding day – and I can totally see how you would think that! I just blogged about bridal details, and how it’s so great to have everything organized, and I’ve blogged about engagement photographs and how important they are… etc, etc! However, I know that not everything has a budget to pull EVERYTHING off! So, today’s post is about ONE part of the wedding day that can completely change the look of the overall day dramatically!

This post is specifically about the bridal bouquet! I’m not talking about the bridesmaid florals or even the centerpieces… JUST the bride’s bouquet! It’s one piece of the wedding day that holds a lot of power! When I’m photographing a wedding, the most consistent element that ends up being in most of the portraits, is the bridal bouquet! It’s EVERYWHERE! I take detail shots of it, I take bridal portraits with it, and I encourage the bride to have it in most of her romantic portraits as well. When the bridal bouquet is done well, it can tie the whole wedding theme together!! It is a very important piece of the wedding decor and yet some brides think to skimp on the flowers because they’ve spent a lot of money on other things. The funny thing is that their bouquet is one of the most photographed details of the entire wedding day! Don’t think that just because you’ve invested a lot in photography that everything else needs to be amazing in order to have amazing photographs! That’s not true at all! However, when it comes to JUST the bridal bouquet, I would encourage brides to invest in what they really want because it will show up in their photographs more than anything else!!
