It was the most beautiful day for a family session in the Botanical Gardens! I always love this time of year, as the gardens always look so lush and colourful! Emily is just 6 months old, but so full of smiles and personality! She was giving me a run for my money, as I tried to get smiles out of her in the beginning! However as soon as Allison started playing peek-a-boo with her, it was all smiles and laughter the rest of the session!

I think the most important thing to remember when you’re photographing a family with a 6 monther or any baby really, is to pay attention to the little one and follow their cues. I noticed that towards the end of our session, that Emily was fading quick! She was DEFINITELY ready for her nap! So, we quickly photographed one last family portrait, Mom cuddling with Emily and then Dad cuddling with Emily and then headed on our way! For me, keeping the littles happy and content is the most important – and plus in the long run it keeps Mom & Dad happy as well!!
