Happy Wedding Wednesday, friends! For those of you following me on Instagram, you’ll see that I absolutely love to use hashtags in my posts! I just love them and think they can be so much fun! Not only are hashtags super entertaining, they can also be used as a way for people to find photographers (#bermudaphotographer anyone!?), and for people to find what you’re sharing on social media – hello, #sarahebrides & #sarahefamilies !!

So, that got me thinking about weddings, and why your wedding should have it’s own hashtag! 

Whether we like it or not, everyone brings their phones and cameras to weddings! But rather than keeping  these photographs in our phones, what if there was a way that your friends could post selfies & shots of your wedding (especially the reception!). And then you could not only get hundreds of professional photographs from us, but also dozens of fun snapshots from your friends and family! By creating a wedding day hashtag you open up the possibility for friends and family to store all of their photographs in once place!! Plus, it’s so much fun to scroll through these photographs on the day after your wedding!

If you’re having trouble coming up with your wedding day hashtag, head on over to Wedding Wire, where they’ve actually created a Hashtag Generator! Once you’ve chosen your hashtag, be sure to check on Instagram to see that nobody has already used your hashtag! And then prior to your wedding day let your guests know about your hashtag!! I’ve seen so many #sarahebrides use their hashtags to share all of the wedding preparation, engagement parties, and dress rehearsal! It’s just a really fun (and free!) way that your guests can be part of your wedding, and some of the photos tagged can be pretty priceless!
